Wanda L. Wood

Wanda L. Wood, age 63, of Penn Yan, NY, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, at home. She was born on May 30, 1962, in Montour Falls, NY.

Wanda is predeceased by her mother, Hazel V. (Wood) Pym (2020); stepfather, Charles W. Pym, Sr. (2001); maternal grandmother, Anna White; and paternal grandmother, Mary Catherine Dencenberg. She is survived by her sisters, Linda M. (Max)Gee of Dundee, NY, Kathy (Dennis)Beers of Campbell, NY and Mary (Clark)Searles of Knoxville, TN; her brother, Charles Pym, Jr. of Dundee, NY; along with 11 nieces and nephews and 12 great-nieces and nephews.

Wanda attended Penn Yan Academy, graduating with the Class of 1982. She worked at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Arc of Yates, Mozaic, and was on the dining staff at Dundee Central School. Wanda was a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan. She loved classic country music, as well as Old Western movies, horror flicks and classic sitcoms. She also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and spending time with her loved ones at family gatherings.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 1:00pm, at Townsend-Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 201 East Elm St., Penn Yan, NY. Wanda will be laid to rest in Tyrone Union Cemetery, Tyrone, NY.
