Stephen C. Hoose, age 62, of Pulteney, NY died, Saturday, November 18 ^th , 2023 at home.

Stephen was born on January 18 ^th , 1961 in Bath, NY, the son of Lester and Rebecca Hoose.  He married Deborah Moore on October 18 ^th , 1994 at the United Methodist Church in Prattsburgh.  He worked for many years as a spot welder for Mercury Aircraft.

He cherished his quiet, country solitude, his family, and his farm. His heart was with the farm that he lovingly tended to for a decade. He found joy in his animals and often nursed wounded animals back to health. He was a skillful backyard horticulturist, and planted many of the trees on our hill. His sense of humor was a blessing to all who knew him.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Deborah (Moore) Hoose; daughter, Amanda (Nick) Dowdle; sons, James Hoose of Mount Morris and Jesse (Allison) Hoose of Pulteney; grandchildren, Jordan Miller, Braelynn Dowdle, Gianna Dowdle, and Onyx Dowdle; sisters, Tammy (Neal) Robbins of Prattsburgh and Carrie (Toby) Malone of Dansville; brothers, Tim (Mary) Hoose and Lester Hoose Jr. both of Prattsurgh; his father, Lester Hoose Sr. of Dansville; and eight nieces and nephews and many cousins.  Stephen was predeceased by his mother, Rebecca Hoose on October 7 ^th , 2018.

Family and friends may call from 2:00 pm to 3 pm on Saturday, December 2 ^nd , 2023 at the Grace Community Fellowship Church, 9192 County Rd. 74, Pulteney, NY.  A memorial service celebrating his life will follow at the church at 3:00 pm.
