Shirley A. Condella, 92, passed away in Portsmouth, NH on September 24, 2025 surrounded by family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church, 312 Liberty St., Penn Yan, NY on Saturday October 4th at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, 54 W. Lake Rd. in Penn Yan. Visitation will be held at Townsend-Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan on Friday October 3rd from 4:00-6:00 pm. Shirley was born in Sayre, PA to Gladys and Ellis Lofstrom on February 25, 1933. She graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in 1951. While attending Keuka College, Shirley met her future husband Frank C. Condella, Sr. on a blind date. They spent 58 wonderful years married. Shirley was the Village of Penn Yan Clerk Treasurer for many years. She was an expert quilter, long time member of the Lake to Lake Quilt Guild, sewed special quilts for each grandchild, and made dozens of baby quilts to donate to local hospitals. Shirley is survived by her son Frank C. Condella, Jr. (Mary) of Newburyport, MA, daughter Christie Condella Carson (Thomas) of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren Catherine Mary McCosker (Thomas), Tessie and Anna Condella, Michael and David Carson, great granddaughters Rose and Thea McCosker, brother Charles Lofstrom (Susan), and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Frank C. Condella Sr. and sister Diane Brown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Keuka College at keuka.edu/giving.
