Sally S. Thomas

Sally Sanders Thomas, age 82, of Keuka Park, NY, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026.

She was born on May 17, 1943, in Cornwall, NY, to Peter and Sarah “Sally” (Baker) Sanders.

Sally was known for her cheerful spirit, bright smile, and extraordinary artistic talent. From the time she received her first paint set as a child, art became a lifelong passion. While she found great joy in painting and pottery, her greatest joy was always her family.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Fred; their children, Matthew Thomas (Kristine) and their children, Matthew, Kaylee, and Peter; Terri Nielsen (Jeffrey) and their children, Gunner and Annika (Evan); and S. Leigh Horton (Justin) and their children, Foster, Parker, and Oliver.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, May 16, at 2:00 p.m. at Bluff Point United Methodist Church, 3044 Kinneys Corners Rd., Keuka Park. A celebration of life will follow from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at the Penn Yan Moose Lodge, 301 E. Elm St., Penn Yan.

Sally brought beauty, warmth, and kindness to the lives of others and will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bluff Point United Methodist Church or to an organization that supports others in Sally’s memory.
