In Loving Memory
Richard "Dick" D. Maltman, age 81, of Victor, NY passed away peacefully on September 28th, 2026, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Richard was born on October 19, 1944, in Canandaigua, NY to Donald and Mildred Maltman. He grew up in Victor, NY with his brothers Dave, Howard, and Earl.
Richard enjoyed a long and respected career in banking, beginning with Canandaigua National Bank and later joining Five-Star Bank, where he retired in 2008. Deeply committed to his community, he served as a Victor Town Councilman for more than 20 years and was a member of the Victor Chamber of Commerce, Victor Lions Club, and Masonic Lodge. He was admired for his hard work, kindness, and genuine respect for others, and he formed lasting friendships throughout the Victor community.
In retirement, Richard embraced life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending the spring and summer at his home on Waneta Lake and the fall and winter months at Oceanside Village in Surfside, South Carolina. Wherever he was, Richard was surrounded by friends and often known as the life of the party. With his warmth, humor, and welcoming spirit, he had a special way of making people feel at ease. Time spent with Dick was always filled with laughter and good memories.
Above all, Richard was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He shared 61½ wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Kathleen B. Maltman. He was a loving father to Kyle (Peggy) Maltman and Todd (Bernyce) Maltman, and a cherished grandfather to Avery (Brian) Maltman, Ethan (Cristina) Maltman, Evan Maltman, O’Brien Dailey, and Brennan Dailey and his brother. Earl, along with his family and many loving friends.
Richard was predeceased by his brothers, Dave and Howard, whom he loved dearly.
A celebration of Richard’s life will be held in the Spring of 2027.
