Ora Hammond, age 77, of Bellona, NY entered unto rest on Friday, December 23rd, 2022 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital. Ora was born on June 28th, 1945 in Corning, NY, the daughter of the late, Norman and Mae (Kalmbach) Morse. She graduated from Middlesex Valley High School and married Darwin C. Hammond at the Potter Church on November 23rd, 1963. She retired from Keuka College in 2011 after 24 years of service. She was a member of the Bath Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Ora is survived by her daughters, Rose Hammond of Penn Yan, Kathy Hammond (Greg Griffin) of Penn Yan and Alayne Hammond of Bellona; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren;and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ora was predeceased by her husband of 47 years Darwin C. Hammond on March 12th, 2011 and three brothers and her sister. Friends and family are invited to attend her committal service at Bath National Cemetery, on Monday, January 23rd, 2023 at 11am. A memorial service will follow at 12 Noon at the Bath Methodist Church, 3 West Washington St., Bath, NY 14810.
