Marilyn R. Parmelee

Marilyn R. Parmelee, 80, of Penn Yan, NY, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026 at her son’s home.

She was born in Penn Yan, NY on February 2, 1946, the daughter of the late Albert and Flossie (Burgess) Dixon. She graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1964.

Marilyn worked at Greenidge Generation in Dresden and later retired from NYSEG.

She was a member of the Penn Yan Moose Lodge 2030, American Legion Johnson-Costello Post 355 Auxiliary, VFW Post 745 Auxiliary and the Duck Club.

Marilyn loved to go to the casinos. She especially loved Bingo and pull tabs. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cherished her time at her cottage on Waneta Lake.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Jamie (Erika) Sisson (Michele Doyle) of Keuka Park; daughter-in-law, Wendy Sisson of AZ; siblings, Janet (Doug) Smart of Penn Yan, Penny (Frank) Putman of Dundee, Elsie (Joe) Penaloca of TX and Don (Kim) Dixon of Penn Yan; six grandchildren, Samantha (Michael) Marsh of PA, Derek (Brandi) Sisson of MI, Ashley (Bryan) Frey of Penn Yan, Susan Pero of Chicago, IL, Richard Sisson of Chicago, IL and Corina (Chris) Stockmaster of Hamilton; five great grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, Howard Sisson, Sr.; son, Howie Sisson; sister, Elnora Lightner; brothers, Jerry Dixon, Charlie Dixon, Jim Dixon and Dick Dixon.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 3:00 pm at the Penn Yan Moose Lodge, 301 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY.
