Mae "Vicki" Keen

Mae Victoria “Vicki” (Hoose) Keen, age 76, formerly of Penn Yan, NY passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Newark-Wayne Hospital. Vicki was born on February 2, 1950 in Penn Yan, NY, to the late Durwood and Katherine (Swarthout) Hoose.

Vicki is survived by her sons, Jimmy (Becky) Keen, Jr. of Penn Yan, NY and Robert “Robbie” Keen; step son, Greg (Elisha Marie) Hoke; a sister, Susan Hoose of Branchport, NY; grandchildren, Dustin Keen (Jessica MacMillan) and Brittany (Branden) Rumsey; great-grandchildren, Holden, Jackson and Raelynn; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents; her loving husband of 25 years, Jimmy Keen, Sr.; a son, Carl Hoose; brothers, Clark Hoose, Sr., Richard Hoose, Smith “Smitty” Hoose and Charles Hoose; sisters, Polly Hoose and Ethel Hoose; and nephew, Clark “Buddy” Hoose, Jr.

Vicki graduated from Penn Yan Academy. She worked locally in the vineyards tying grapes, babysitting, as a production worker, and also a home health aide. She enjoyed BINGO, coloring, word puzzles, listening to music, talking on the phone, and watching WWE and the Hallmark Channel on television. She especially delighted in time spent with family and friends, with her great-grandchildren being the light of her life in recent years.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 11am-1pm on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Townsend-Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 201 East Elm St., Penn Yan, NY, 14527. Her funeral service will follow at 1pm. She will be laid to rest in Branchport Cemetery.
