Leona J. Swart, 81, of Penn Yan, NY passed away on Wednesay, May 1, 2024 at Soldiers & Sailors Hospital. She was born on January 10, 1943 in Sharon, CT, the daughter of Robert B. and Anna M. Ingraham. Leona worked in Food service for over 20 years, retiring in 1986.

She was predeceased by her parents; her former husband Richard Swart; son, James M. Swart; grandson, John J. Swart, Jr.; several brothers and sisters; and her partner of over 20 years, Richard Maynard.

Leona is survived by two daughters, Jeannine (Craig) Smith and Jessie (Roberto) Quinonez; a son John J. Swart (Danielle); 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Leona's Life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 1:00 pm at American Legion Post #355, 2001 Himrod Rd., Penn Yan, NY. Burial will be in Whitney Cemetery in Seneca Castle, NY at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Shelter of Hope, 1216 State Route 14A, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
