Karen Marie Furman, age 72, of Penn Yan, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the Homestead. Born on June 30, 1953, Karen was the daughter of Robert and Gladys (Jensen) Kjar.

A 1971 graduate of Penn Yan Academy, she was retired from a career at Finger Lakes Health, where she was a Lab Clerk at Geneva General and S&S Hospitals. Karen was also a lifelong member of the Penn Yan First Baptist Church.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Bob Kjar. She is survived by her son, Robert Shane Furman; mother, Gladys Kjar; and several cousins, siblings and special friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Yates County Humane Society, 1216 Route 14A, Penn Yan, NY, 14527.
