Joanna Smith Errico, 95, died peacefully at home on January 7th, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Marco P. Errico. Joanna was born, raised and lived her entire life in the Village of Dresden, NY. She graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1944 at the age of 15. In 1945 she was employed by the Department of the Army at the Seneca Army Depot where she worked in the personnel management department. It was there that she met Mark who she later married. In 1970, after 25 years of employment, she retired. Upon retiring she took a secretarial job at the Dresden Elementary School and remained there until it closed in 1977.

Joanna was a member of the Dresden United Methodist Church her entire life. She performed many hands-on, behind the scenes, functions for the church as well as being one of the trustees and the treasurer for the trustees for over 40 years. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Once Again Shoppe in Penn Yan, NY as well as a volunteer there for over 20 years. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Dresden United Methodist Church. Memories of Joanna may be shared with her family and friends at townsendwoodzinger.
