Jeannette (Smith) Stratton, 69, of Penn Yan, New York, passed away peacefully on May 17th, 2023 with her daughter Jamie Lafave and sister TC Brewer there for support. Jeanie worked several jobs to support her two children while putting herself through college. Jeannette graduated with an Associates of Arts degree in Human Services and Childcare. She loved taking care of children. She used to say, "You're never too old to watch cartoons!" If you knew Jeanie, you would remember her humorous sarcastic tone. Jeannette was pre-deceased by her ex-husband Gene Stratton; her parents Grover and Mary Smith; and her grandparents William and Genevieve Brisco. Jeanie is survived by her brothers Bill and Richard; sisters Marg, TC, and Lori; her children Jamie Lafave and Joseph Stratton; grandchildren Tyler, Savannah, Cassy, and Skylar; along with many nieces, nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
