Jane A. Angell

Jane Angell, 69, of Penn Yan, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Geneva General Hospital, surrounded by her children, nephews and sister.

She was born in Penn Yan, NY on September 15, 1957, the daughter of Robert and Pauline (Thayer) Logan. Jane graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1975 and attended Monroe Community College.

Jane worked at NYSEG for 45 years, where she held many positions, ending her career as a customer service representative. While at NYSEG, she was a Union Steward at International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. She retired in December of 2025.

Jane loved to spend time with her family and grandson, Carter. He was the light of her life and best buddy in the world! He will miss his Grammy so much! Jane loved her siblings and friends dearly. She never turned down an opportunity for a lunch or dinner date.

She loved growing up on Keuka Lake and vacationing at Rehoboth Beach. When Jane wasn’t working, she could be found cheering on the sidelines of her children’s various sporting events and more recently at her grandson’s soccer, basketball and lacrosse games. Jane loved her book club and collecting books. She made frequent donations to the humane society and was always the first to help anyone in need.

She was predeceased by her father, Robert Logan; maternal grandparents, Archie and Eva Thayer; and paternal grandparents, Wade and Fannie Logan.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Rachel Angell of Penn Yan; son, Griffin Angell of Penn Yan; mother, Pauline Logan of Penn Yan; sister, Loni (Mike) Terpolilli of Penn Yan; brother, Tim (Nellie) Logan of Penn Yan; grandson, Carter; three nephews, Zac (Nichole) Terpolilli, Josh (Marissa) Logan and Noah (Maia) Terpolilli; great nephew, Dexter, great niece, Autumn, and great nephew, Leo; many special cousins; and beloved cats, Ava and Max.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church, 224 Main St., Penn Yan, NY. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
