James M. Gerard

James M. Gerard, 72, of Penn Yan, NY, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Geneva General Hospital.

He was born in Elmira, NY on August 26, 1953 the son of the late Richard and Jeanne (Samuels) Gerard and graduated from Elmira Free Academy.

Jim began his career working at the family paint store, Gerard Paint Store, in Elmira. He later was a partner in Gerard & Cline Painting Contractors.

He enjoyed fantasy baseball, and years ago he loved spending time at the cottage he had on Keuka Lake.

Jim is survived by his wife, Anne C. Stevenson of Penn Yan; daughter, Rebekah Murray Gerard (Michael Malloy); granddaughter, Eloise; brother, Rick (Beth) Gerard; nieces and nephew, Ellen, Abby and Adam; and by good friends, Mike Peters, Ambrose Madden, Larry LeClair and Steve Agan. He was predeceased by his siblings, Bobby, Debbie, Liz and Barb.
