Gerald N. Masucci, age 88, of Himrod, NY and formerly of Webster, NY, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at Keuka Comfort Care Home after an extended illness. He was born in Rochester, NY, on June 21, 1937 to the late Nicholas and Peggy (Rizzo) Masucci.

He is predeceased by a sister, Nancy Kazmark. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Carolyn; his 3 sons, David (Michelle) with their son Benjamin and daughter Kate, of Penfield, NY; Michael (Kelly) with their son Lucas, of Arlington, VA; and Scott of Land-O-Lakes, FL with his children, Alyssa (Nathan) Crane of Canandaigua, NY and Nicholas of Rochester, NY; 3 great-grandchildren, Carolann, Emma and Jackson Crane; a brother, Thomas Masucci of Rochester, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins; along with many of his “forever friends” who enjoyed each other’s company for over 60 years.

Gerald graduated from Charlotte High School and continued his education at St. Lawrence University. He served in the United States Army, where he earned the rank of Captain, and following his honorable discharge, taught school for a year at Edison Tech and spent 5 years at Eastman Kodak. Gerald then went on to a long career as an engineer at Xerox Corporation, retiring after more than 30 years of dedicated service. After retirement, he spent time as a substitute teacher within the Dundee Central School District.

Outside of his work, Gerald loved to fly. He taught flying for many years at the Penn Yan Flying Club. He flew with CAP and also joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary, where he was involved in several flying missions. He was also very involved in his community, which included active membership in the Penn Yan American Legion Post #355, Seneca Pure Waters Association, Milo Town Board; he did free tax preparation for the elderly through AARP, and taught Math to women in prison for the purposes of obtaining their GED during his winters in Sun City, FL.

Despite all of his accomplishments and hobbies, Gerald’s main focus and passion in life was his family, and made certain that his grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew just how special they were to him.
