Ellen M. Parkhurst Hayes, age 88, of Penn Yan, NY passed away on Sunday, January 17th, 2021 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan, NY. Ellen was born in Rochester, NY on June 17th, 1932, the daughter of late George and Lucille Osborn Parkhurst. Ellen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Ellen is survived by her sons, George (Rose), Roger and Randy Hayes; grandson, Robert (Katrina) Hayes; granddaughter in law, Amanda Hayes; four great grandchildren, Damion, Rebecca, Lilly, and Lyam. In addition to her parents, Ellen was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Dudley E. Hayes Jr.; sons, Donald and Barry Hayes; grandson, James Hayes; brothers, Edgar, David and Walter "Butch" Parkhurst. Friends and family may call from 10am to 11am on Satuday, January 23rd, 2021 at Townsend Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 201 E. Elm St. Penn Yan, NY 14527. Her funeral service will follow at 11am with Rev. Ron Woudenberg officiating. Interment will be at City Hill Cemetery.
