Deborah H. Scheffler, age 70, of Penn Yan, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at home. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021, from 2-4 p.m. at Townsend-Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 201 E. Elm Street, Penn Yan, N.Y. 14527. Debbie was born in Cortland, N.Y., the daughter of the late Beverlye (Bishop) and William Higgins. She is survived by her daughter Sarah (Michele) Scheffler of Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.; son Micah (Erin) Scheffler of Rochester, N.Y.; grandchildren Owen and Isabel; sisters Susan (Stan) Higgins-Ferrell of Estero, F.L. and Daphne Dow of Chesapeake, V.A.; brothers William (Joan) Higgins of Fort Meyers, F.L. and Timothy (Julie) Higgins of Groton, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Debbie was predeceased by her parents and her husband of 48 years, Raymond Scheffler (2018).
