David Walter Andersen, 77, born in Penn Yan, NY on February 16, 1948, died November 6, 2025 unexpectedly. Remembered by loved ones, friends, colleagues and clients for his kindness, patience, unwavering sense of justice, professionalism, devotion to his family and dedication to his work as a licensed land surveyor, which he enjoyed through his final day. He lived a good, successful life. David graduated from Penn Yan Academy, class of 1966, where he was known for his athletic achievements in baseball and basketball. David was a Yankee's fan, avid trout fisherman, and a phenomenal cook. David was also a military veteran, serving in the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. He will live on through fond memories carried into the next generation.
Predeceased by his father, Glenn Andersen, mother Rebecca Andersen, brother Dale Andersen, sister-in-law Christine Andersen, and grandson Eric Earley. Survived by his daughters Elise Andersen, Elizabeth (Matt) Hill, and Karla Andersen; grandchildren Luke Jensen, Marissa Andersen, Matthew McFall, Kaylee McFall, Caitlin McFall, Olivia Hill, Joshua Rodas and Rachel Rodas; great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews including Jeremy Andersen and Jamie Andersen; former spouse and good friend Lois VanKeuren Howard, longtime associate and friend Bob Pearce, and beloved cat Abigail Rose.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday November 11, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Townsend-Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY. Burial service will be held on Saturday November 15, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Lakeview Cemetery, followed by a celebration of life from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at his daughter Elise's house with friends and family.
