Curtis Allen Rhodes, age 67, of Penn Yan, NY passed away on Friday, August 16th, 2024.

Curt was born on April 30th, 1957 the son of Donald and Patricia Rhodes. He was a 1976 graduate of Penn Yan Academy. Curt married Janice DiFrancesco in Bellona, NY on March 20th, 1999. His lifetime work was his family farm, R.H. Rhodes & Son, Inc. He was the 4th generation of the Rhodes family to work this farm. Curt was an avid reader, especially history. He enjoyed boating on Seneca Lake, hunting, NFL games, especially his Cowboys. He loved great guitar rock music. Beloved husband, brother and friend. He was known for his quick wit and his love of good times with family and lifelong friends.

Curt is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Janice DiFranesco Rhodes; sisters, Carolyn (Robert) Sullivan of Geneva, Catherine (Roger) Fritz of Bellona, Cynthia (Jeffrey) Davis of Geneva, and Karen (Doug Cripps) Rhodes of Bellona; brother, Robert (Molly) Rhodes of Geneva; as well as, several nieces and nephews. Curt was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Patricia Rhodes and his brother, Bruce Rhodes.

Family and friends may call from 2 pm to 4 pm on Friday, August 30th, 2024 at Townsend-Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY 14527. A memorial service honoring his life will be held immediately following at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Curt's memory to the Humane Society of Yates County, PO Box 12, Penn Yan, NY 14527 or to the Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association, PO Box 247, Geneva, NY 14456.
