Obituary

Cecelia Hoffer (formerly Mrs. Reeder), passed her final day on this Earth, on June 30th in the late evening. She was a longtime Homestead, Fl. resident, and a Florida native, who loved life. She was the "eternal optimist", feeling that good things were always around the next corner.

She began her teaching career early, at Avocado Elementary, as Miss Painter, then married William Reeder, of Homestead, in 1959, and was Mrs. Reeder during her years at Avocado. She loved her students, and was always very interested in their experience in her classroom. She was a Girl Scout leader, who made it her mission to bring scouting to any girl interested. She enjoyed the outdoors, and spent many an hour in one wilderness or another, camping, or canoeing, with family or Scouts, as well as boating and fishing, in both the Florida Bay, and the waters off of Biscayne National Park.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Shipp, and four grandchildren, Eric, and Mary Shipp, and, Anthony, and Jade Reeder. Her son, Jack Reeder, predeceased her in October of 2022. Her life was well lived, and our memories of her, and with her, will live on inside each of us. Her spirit was indomitable, and with much love, we keep her close.
