Bonnie L. Callaway

Bonnie Lou Callaway 60 of Penn Yan, New York, passed away on April 13, 2026.

Bonnie was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Shirley Weichbrodt; her brother, James O’Brien; her nephew, Daniel Blauvelt; and her loving husband, Ernest W. Callaway IV.

She leaves behind her greatest pride and joy, her children: Ernest W. Callaway V (Kendra), Caitlin M. Callaway (Mark), and Elissa M. Callaway (Jared); as well as her sister, Sharon Blauvelt (Chris), and sister-in-law, Millie O’Brien. Bonnie was also overjoyed and eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first grandson Callan William, who will forever carry a piece of her love with him.

Bonnie was born on October 3, 1965, in Rochester, New York. She graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1983 and went on to marry her high school sweetheart, sharing over 38 wonderful years together. She spent many years as a rural mail carrier, becoming more than just a familiar face—she was a bright spot in so many people’s days.

But more than anything, Bonnie was the heart of her family. She was a deeply loving mother, devoted wife, proud aunt, and loyal friend. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, often gathering loved ones around for big, home-cooked meals where laughter filled the room and no one ever left hungry. Bonnie’s smile could light up any space, and her kindness knew no limits-she would give anything she had to help someone else.

Some of her happiest moments were spent on the lake, surrounded by her family, soaking in the simple joy of being together. She was endlessly proud of her children and the lives they are building, and that pride showed in everything she did. Bonnie also shared a deep bond with her beloved dog Benelli, who brought her comfort, companionship, and so much joy.

Bonnie’s love was steady, selfless, and deeply felt—the kind of love that stays with you, even in her absence. She will be missed beyond words and remembered forever by all who were lucky enough to know and love her. We will miss you, Mom, forever and always.

Services will be held at a later date, with details to be shared once arrangements are finalized.
