Arlene H. Shaver, age 98, of Penn Yan, NY, formerly of Detroit, MI, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at the Penn Yan Manor. She was born on March 5, 1927 in Marlette, MI to the late Alex and Hazel (Cust) Davies. Arlene is predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, LeRoy Shaver in 1999; son, Daniel Shaver in 1997; and sister, Audrey Davies in 2020. She is survived by her son, Richard J. Shaver, of Penn Yan, NY; and grandchildren, Alex A. Shaver of Canandaigua, NY and Sarah N. Shaver of Warren, RI. Arlene was a devoted mother to her two children and proud wife of a World War II Veteran, who was also a Purple Heart recipient. She worked as a nursery school teacher, and was faithful member of the Penn Yan United Methodist Church. Arlene will be laid to rest at the White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, in Troy, MI.
